The Moment Aaron Kaufman Said Goodbye to Richard Rawlings and Gas Monkey Garage

- in Cars

Aaron Kaufman has been planning a departure from the Gas Monkey Garage for some time now and we’ve heard murmurs and statements about the situation from both sides of the matter.

But this time, we get to sit in on the intense meeting between Richard and Aaron in which Aaron explains exactly why he’s leaving and gives us an idea of what he plans on doing when the two trails part ways.

In a world where everyone seems to be so careful about what they say, Aaron Kaufman was incredibly open. For fans of the show, it does make sense.
As the show has matured, the builds have changed. They all have time constraints that make it impossible to build something that would be truly one of a kind. The detail and craftsmanship would be outside the interest level of many fans of the show.

Follow the cameras inside down in the clip below that gives you some insight into the situation. Now that all of the cards are finally on the table, I still maintain the belief that both of these guys will go on to continue doing great things in the world of wheels.
You could practically cut the tension with a knife here, but it really seems like both guys retain their sense of respect and admiration for one another.

When we learned of Aaron Kaufman leaving Gas Monkey Garage and Fast N Loud, it left a lot of questions unanswered. His future plans, though, are going to make Ford guys around the globe dancing. He has a company, Arclight, that specializes in fabricating parts for restoring Ford F-100 trucks and he’s flirting with the idea of returning to TV without Rawlings.
