God Does Not Like This Truck In Particular – Lightning Struck A Pick Up and Turned It into A Fireball

A quiet drive on a rural highway turned terrifying for one couple after their vehicle was struck by lightning.

Al and Betty Perry, an elderly couple had a lucky escape when their truck was struck by lightning as they drove on Highway 14 near Tofield, Alberta in Canada. Surveillance cameras recorded the freak occurrence – showing the moment a fireball struck, and appeared to engulf, the Perry’s silver Chevrolet pickup truck.

Inside the truck, airbags deployed and then smoke began to fill the cabin. Miraculously the elderly Canadian couple inside the car survived, though the strike was so strong that it melted parts of their pickup truck, trapping them inside.
Door and windows were locked as the electrics malfunctioned, while smoke started to fill the car, making it difficult for either Al or Betty to see or breathe.

All that it is also witnessed by the RCMP officer several hundred meters which just happened to be passing by.

In the surveillance video, officer Constable Jamont pulled up to the truck in his unmarked police vehicle. He jumped out and rushed to the pickup truck.

“I’ve never seen anything like that. I’ve seen them off in the distance, hit trees before, but never like that. I couldn’t see in the cab of the truck, it was full of smoke,” Constable Jamont said. “As I approached the driver’s side, the gentleman inside was trying to kick the window out. He couldn’t get it kicked out.”

He used his baton to smash out the window. When the smoke started to dissipate he was able to help the Perry’s out of the truck.

Afterwards, Al and Betty were checked by doctors. They told the Perry’s the bolt doesn’t seem to have affected them in any physical way. Al believes the smoke could have killed them though and credited the officer from saving them from suffocating.

“One thing I know for sure, I will take this to my grave…if that police officer wouldn’t have been there, we wouldn’t be here,” Al said assertively.

Just days after the terrifying ordeal, the couple celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary and will now look forward to many more.
